Moreover, in Skenderbegova 51 you will find Children’s museum and Toys’ museum all in one, full of old toys and games, so going to this museum is an excellent family outing as well.

Museum of Vuk and Dositej is another place that you will hardly miss, as it is one of the rare buildings maintained in the same form that it was in almost two centuries ago. Located in Gospodar Jevremova Street, very close to Ethnographic Museum, this is the place to go when you want to see the past. In the museum space lived numerous significant people of different eras, about which you will hear everything when you visit the museum, or you can read a bit more about on our blog.

Jewish Museum is yet another cultural spot worth mentioning, as it is the only of its kind in the capital. It can be found in Kralja Petra Street, and it has an interesting show of Jewish history in Serbia throughout the many centuries of their life in this region. Yet another interesting site in Dorcol is Bajrakli mosque which can be easily spotted amongst the more or less modern structures around it. It is unique and speaks of different times, of Belgrade under Turkish siege, that was in its full blast when the mosque was built, in 1575. From then, it had been turned into a catholic church, and again to its original state after the rule of Austrians on this territory ended. At the present time, it remains the only mosque open to public in Belgrade.

Gallery of Frescos is another place quite hidden from sight in Kralja Petra Street, but its interior will surely impress you. Monumental, vast and utterly beautiful, this gallery offers a look into the rich art of frescos, and in this space you will easily feel as though you have stepped into a monastery that has all monasteries and churches compacted into it. This site is highly recommended for all first timers in Belgrade, simply because it provides a different view to Serbian cultural heritage.

In general, even the streets of Dorcol are filled with artistic expression from a many anonymous artists, but you will see graffiti that will definitely make you stop for a moment, small art galleries scattered all over the neighborhood all make arts and museums in Dorcol most definitely worth your while.
