Art and museums in Vracar Belgrade

Nikola Tesla Museum
– located on Krunska Street in its beautiful estate, Nikola Tesla Museum is definitely one of the most organized one, not to mention its cultural value. If you don’t know much about this scientist, it is enough to say that he was a man ahead of his time then and still is now. Museum tours are available both in Serbian and English, you will have an opportunity to try out some of Tesla’s inventions, as well as play with lightening. For a more detailed written tour of the museum, take a look at our blog.

Paya Jovanovich Museum is dedicated to another great Serb, and one of the most influential painters of his time – Paya Jovanovich. His long life and mesmerizing career gave fruits in beautiful paintings that look like they are a carved piece of reality trapped inside a frame. Museum is actually an apartment where Jovanovich used to reside when he stayed in Belgrade, and there is much to see and find out about this artist, and we have written a few words about his legacy as well.

Church of Saint Sava – there is a good chance that you have heard of it. One of the biggest Orthodox Christian churches in the world, it is quite a remarkable sight to behold, especially at night. This is by far one of the most prominent sights in the capital, and your way will definitely lead you to it, especially if you are staying in one of our apartments in Vracar. Have in mind that the church’s interior is still under construction, so it is not as majestic as it looks on the outside, but it is still quite awe-inspiring.

When it comes to theaters, one of the best known theaters – Belgrade Drama Theatre can also be found in Vracar, or more precisely on Milesevska Street, couple of stops away from Slavija Square, one of the melting pots of Belgrade. If you have a taste for a bit of national theater experience, then proximity of Belgrade Drama Theater will definitely come in handy.
